/signed The one thing I want in GW is an auction house. GW is supposed to "reward player skill, not time spent playing" This is currently not possible if you need to buy something and don't have the money or time to find buyers of your inventory to get the money. PLEASE ANET!!!

I have read somewere that they are thinking of uppgrade the "selling traders" or put in an auction house.. i just hope they do it soon and dont wait untill the next game :S

I usually hate fan-submitted ideas, that turn out to be silly things that could never be worked into the game "Zomg wouldn't it be cool if there were vehicles el oh el"
But, this may be the best idea I've ever heard. It's always such a pain to sell stuff. Although this does sound like it would be hard to work into the game.

I like the idea of the spam freer for personal i think this will help economy too cuz you dont have to fight other competitors WTS rajazan 35, wts rajazan 30k.
that way you will leave the districts spam free and plus the player will have the chance to dedicate to other activity while they dont have to spend time selling stuff.
id say its a great idea man nice work on this too

Honestly, it's way too hard to trade/sell items with people scattered all over tyria/cantha. If someone is looking to buy something, it takes forever to find them (unless they are a very very popular item). An auction house would really be appreciated, it can help people sell or buy things much more easily.
Please consider this Anet.

PLEASE Anet fix this. It GREATLY detracts from the game having
50 people spamming WTS every 5 seconds. Ok i am exaggerating a little, but not much. I know this is an old issue, but i am new to the game.
It is so stupid to have to sit there or exit the game just to sell something.
I can't believe that the minor trading interaction with people and some idiots, is worth leaving the in-game trading unchanged. If i want to interact with people i can do it in MISSIONS or QUESTS, not the spam market. Anyway thats what i joined a guild for. Also, any traded item should be valued and tracked if possible, that way a max gold Awesome sword does not sell for
400gp to merchant. It should be kinda like the materials system if possible.
Ah well, i am done ranting.
PS. I merch'd about 8 fairly nice mods just because it sucks sitting there spamming wts and i needed the inventory room RIGHT THEN.
I would pay $20 real world money for a stinking in-game auction house addition. Thanks.

like most people, I didn't read every single post... but there could be a problem[isn't there always a problem?] with this[as with any other game's auction place], I think a example would work best to explain it...
Say a guild/group/whatever wants to take something that is cheep, and is used often, like purple dye[not sure if it's used often but.. it's a example!], and corner the market on it by buying mass ammounts of it, thus raising the price of the dye. So, the group then sells the dye as a buy it now[if there is one, or 1/2 the trader price at the marked up value on a normal auction]. Now what would be normally priced purple dye would logically be gone by the worried masses or the group so now the dye is highly over priced.
end of my example
though I probably have made a confusion more then a point, how would we avoid something like this?

After playing a game couple weeks ago with Auction House and seeing spam free cities where people actually talked about casual things/adventuring/etc etc. it's quite sad to come back and see Droknar/LA/KC chat.

If an auction house is to be successful, I think I would be necessary to have multiple institutions so the new characters are not overpowered at the beginning of the game, thus destroying the play of the game.

I like the idea, cuz it's easy money, but I've also thought of some drawbacks...
- if there were an auction house, in which I could dump my weapons etc that I'd WTS, I'd also drop in a lot of noob / useless weapons for free, for beginners to pick from. But then starting players might have too much of an advantage in the game... Drops would become less interesting for them, as they can pick up a cheap GOOD weapon at the AH. (not the Albert Heyn, but the Auction House)...
- Prices would drop, because now there's 1 or 2 ppl trying to sell a godly Fellblade in a city for 100k + ectos, who take their time trying to sell it. Time is money. Hence the high price. But now the AH has 200 Fellblades, and competition is harder. Someone will think: I'm saving time here, I can let it go for say 50k. Prices drop fast.
I'm still for an AH, but we might need to carefully consider possible drawbacks.
Though less Trade spam is a HUGE plus imo.

i think its useles, because of the big amount of perfect veapons(greens) this auction house will be our trash and not some eficient trade place.
i usualy sell the carbage to the merchant and not going to lions to write like some ... to wts wts.
now the sales in towns is for the rare items, and rare materials and perfect or almost perfect upgrades, all other items its a crap and no value.
